GUITAR SYLLABUS
Philosophy Behind This Syllabus
Aims:
- To offer a structured and Comprehensive method of studying the modern day guitar.
- To Provide a Reliable system of assessing progress therein offering
a Canadian Recognition of the musical skills which will awarded
by the Canadian Guitar Teachers Registry(CGTR).
- To give Canadian Guitar students a chance to develop their
musical skills, abilities, and potential.
Methods:
The examination syllabus aims to recognize and evaluate the following skills:
1.) Knowledge of/and practical demonstration of the us of scales and chords.
2.) Improvisation, stylistic interpretation, creativity, and musical communication.
3.) Reading and interpreting chord charts relative to the modern day guitarist.
4.) Reading Standard Notation therefore bringing a better understanding of musical theory.
5.) To evaluate the performance of a modern day song, thereby bringing a better understanding of song structure and the ability to play a song from beginning to end.
6.) Knowledge of the Modern Day Guitarist and how they have impacted the modern musical landscape.
7.) Theoretical Knowledge of intervals and chord relationships
8.) Aural Abilities.
